London: Democracy picnic and flower laying (General)
Gather 2pm at Victoria Tower Gardens to mark the anniversary of suffragette Emmeline Pankhursts passing and the launch of Take Back Parliaments democracy action groups.

We are marking the day by laying flowers as her statue and listening to a few speakers who take inspiration from her memory. Following this we’ll be having a picnic, so make sure you wear purple and bring your flags, banners and food and drink!

The picnic will mark a special day for Take Back Parliament. On this day we’ll formally launch the first in a series of Democracy action groups around the UK. These groups will build on the clear desire of many people for voting reform take action in communities to raise awareness of this vital cause.

Emmeline Pankhurst was one of the most influential figures in the suffragette movement. After a long campaign suffragette campaigners finally won British women an equal right to vote in 1928.
